Vacuum robots brazen out to keep the home in mint condition – perhaps a job many humans shy away from.
It is our duty to maintain the home clean but no one minds a little help. Roomba vacuum robots are very common in many houses. Here I am with my new Roomba and though I enjoy my robot I still have a challenge. The question is – how do I empty my roomba?
Although seemingly a simple question to be curious about, the answer could take a dozen complex makeup/arrays.
It is obvious that the more advanced models of roomba would have the feature to automatically empty the bin. On the contrary, there are many models of roomba that leave the owners clueless / bewildered on the topic of – how to empty a roomba.
Examples of the self auto emptying vacuums include Roomba i7+ and Roomba s9+.
The Roomba i7+ empties itself for upto two months using the automatic dirt disposal feature.
It is possible either using alexa, or google assist to voice command your smart vacuum robot. “Tell Roomba to clean under the dining table” and consider it done. Once the floor is sparkling, the Roomba self empties in a dirt disposal bag that can hold for 8 weeks allowing you time off not to think about vacuuming.
Steps to Empty a Roomba and Clean the Filter
Follow these simple steps to empty a Roomba:
- Remove the bin by pressing the release button
- You will find a bin door that you need to open which then you can empty in your dustbin
- Close the bin door and return the bin to the Roomba. At this point you may want to replace or clean the filter.
- To do this press the filter release button and remove the dirty filter.
The dirty filter can be made as good as new by tapping it gently against a surface. Then you can return it to the correct position. Please remember the door will not close properly if the filter is not positioned accordingly.
Why Choose a Roomba?
You may choose to have Roomba vacuum the house when you are away or almost coming home. This helps in efficient utilization of space and time.
On the negative, this may work to your disadvantage. I have heard numerous complaints when the pets have misbehaved and left the poop in the path of the robot vacuum. When the owners come back, the mess is horrifying!
It’s all over smeared on the walls!
Pet hair can also increase the frequency in which you are required to clean the robot brushes. If you don’t, the effectiveness deteriorates.
Toddlers can be messy while eating and that may multiply the number of cleaning times to an annoying level. But the Roomba is always on standby to deliver the service.
What is Different in Newer Models
The newer models of Roomba are quieter than before. No reason to be apprehensive that the baby will be woken from sleep or the pets will be scared by the noise.
So long as there is a clearance off the ground of about 4 inches, the Roomba vacuum robot is designed to go under that object. This means that the roomba can find its way almost anywhere in your house.
Even better news about this appliance, it can clean around the table and chair legs. As well, good reach on edges along the wall.
The transition through different types of floors is not a problem. Talk of tile, hardwood, rugs – both low and high piles, the roomba functions in all of them.
To reduce the impact of colliding with other objects in the house, Roomba is padded to ensure the energy is absorbed with no chaos. Additionally, it has some inbuilt intelligence through sensors that allows it to detect shadows. This consequently helps as Roomba is able to anticipate the presence of an object. Further, if it is cleaning upstairs, the sensors can detect where the stairs are, consequently avoiding a fall that could potentially damage the costly appliance.
Roomba i7+ will pleasantly surprise you when it repeats to clean areas that it perceives are dirtier. For instance, where the pet stays most of the time.
The connection to google home voice assistant is seamless. You won’t be disappointed.
As one customer rightfully put it, Rooma i7+ is an “autonomous vacuum system”. It will self empty, self charge and vacuum with the thoroughness you have defined for it with little or no intervention from you.
Disadvantages
⛔️ Common Bumper switch or sensor problems – bumper stuck alarm
⛔️ Getting stuck in some protruding sections of the house eg. where we have thick rugs, it is unable to go over them.
⛔️ The bags, although they take relatively long to fill up, can be a costly affair at approximately $8 per bag.
